The Origin

N-Li Tum

“the seed”

In a Kachin folktale, rice leaves the people after they fail to respect it. A great hornbill brings the rice back from the Sun Nation.

The story teaches that food is not something to take for granted — it deserves care, gratitude, and respect.

This same principle lives in traditional farming practice. After every harvest, the best seeds are carefully selected and kept for the next season. A seed is not simply something to consume. It carries the potential for another harvest, another generation, and another future.

The Philosophy

We approach every story as a seed entrusted to us.

Great hornbill holding rice stalk. Indiginous folktale. Indeginous creator.

Our Commitment

Every story deserves to be treated with care — and every film should have the potential to become something more.

N-Li Tum Films is committed to the people, ideas, and stories behind every project. We believe filmmaking carries responsibility — to the story, to its subjects, and to the audience who will carry it forward.

Filmmaking carries responsibility.
